Maximizing the Share Feature with Analytics Tags

Track exactly who views your shared presentations and how they engage with your content by using Analytic Tags on your web links

When you share a presentation via web link, Ingage doesn't just deliver your content — it can also track exactly who is viewing it and how they're engaging with it. By adding an Analytic Tag to your shared link, you turn every web link into a trackable marketing and sales touchpoint. Instead of seeing anonymous views, you'll know precisely which prospect or customer opened your presentation and how long they spent on each page.

Why Use Analytics Tags for Marketing and Sales

Without an Analytic Tag, shared web links produce anonymous session data — you can see that someone viewed the presentation, but you won't know who. When you're sending a link to a specific prospect, customer, or referral partner, that anonymous data isn't very useful.

By adding an Analytic Tag for each recipient, you can answer questions like:

  • Did the prospect I sent this to actually open the presentation?

  • Which pages did they spend the most time on?

  • How long was their total viewing session?

  • Did they come back and view it a second time?

This data gives your sales team real insight into prospect engagement, helping them time follow-ups and tailor conversations based on what the customer actually looked at.

How to Add an Analytic Tag to a Shared Link

  1. Locate your presentation and enter Edit mode

  2. In the upper right corner of the Storyboard, locate the Share To Web section and enable the Public Web Link if it isn't already active

  3. Click Link Options

  4. In the Link Options popup, find the Analytic Tag field

  5. Enter a tag that identifies who you're sending the link to — for example, the recipient's name like Brian or Brian_Smith

  6. The tag will be appended to the end of the link as ?c=Brian_Smith

  7. Click Copy Link and share it with the recipient via text, email, or any other channel

Tip: Analytic Tags can only include letters (a-z, A-Z), numbers (0-9), hyphens (-), and underscores (_). Spaces and special characters are not supported. Use underscores or hyphens to separate words — for example, Brian_Smith or spring-promo-2026.

Reviewing the Analytics

Once your tagged link has been opened, you can see exactly who viewed the presentation and how they interacted with it:

  1. Navigate to the Teams Console by clicking Manage in the left sidebar of the Ingage app, or visit teams.ingage.io

  2. In the left sidebar, expand Analytics and click Sessions

  3. Use the Tags filter to find sessions associated with the Analytic Tag you created (e.g., Brian_Smith)

  4. From the session list, you can see when the person opened the link and how long their session lasted

  5. Click the green arrow on the right side of a session to view the Session Detail Report, which shows which pages were viewed and the duration spent on each page

Use Case Ideas

  • Post-appointment follow-up — Share a presentation with a homeowner after your in-home visit, tagged with their name. Check analytics the next day to see if they reviewed the content and which products they spent the most time on before your follow-up call.

  • Pre-appointment engagement — Send a tagged link before a meeting so your customer can preview what you'll discuss. Use the analytics to see which sections they've already looked at so you can tailor your conversation.

  • Marketing campaigns — Send the same presentation to multiple prospects, each with a unique tag (e.g., Lead_John_Doe, Lead_Jane_Smith). Track which leads are actively engaging with your content.

  • Referral partner tracking — Share product presentations with referral partners using tags like Partner_ABC_Roofing to see which partners are reviewing your materials.

Things to Know

  • Analytic Tags work with Public Web Links — for even more advanced tracking with time-bound links and automatic email tagging, check out Share to Customer

  • Each unique tag creates a filterable entry in Analytics, so use consistent naming conventions to keep things organized

  • You need to create a separate tagged link for each person you want to track individually — sending the same tagged link to multiple people will group all their views under one tag

  • For step-by-step instructions on creating and managing web links, see Sharing Content Via Web Link

  • Analytics are visible to Admins and Analysts in the Teams Console
