Discarding Changes to a Presentation

Undo all of your unpublished edits and revert a presentation to its previous state

Sometimes after making edits to a presentation — swapping out images, changing text, or rearranging content — you decide you'd rather undo everything and go back to the way it was. Instead of manually reverting each change, you can discard all of your changes at once using the File menu.

How to Discard Changes

  1. Make any edits to your presentation as you normally would (e.g., swapping images, editing text, adding or removing components)

  2. When you're ready to discard your edits, navigate back out of the page editor to the Storyboard by clicking the back button

  3. Open the File menu at the top of the application

  4. Select Discard Changes

  5. A confirmation dialog will appear asking whether you want to proceed — click Discard to confirm, or Cancel if you've changed your mind

  6. Once confirmed, all of your changes will be removed and the presentation will revert to its previously published or saved state

Discard vs. Publish vs. Save Draft

When you've made edits to a presentation, you have three options for what to do with those changes:

  • Publish Changes — Pushes your edits live so that all users on your team will see the updated version of the presentation. For more details, see Publishing Changes to Ingage Content.

  • Save Draft — Saves your work in progress without publishing it. Other users will continue to see the previous version until you publish. You can return to your draft later to continue editing.

  • Discard Changes — Throws away all unpublished edits and reverts the presentation to its last published or saved state. This cannot be undone.

Important: Discarding changes is permanent. Once you confirm, there is no way to recover the discarded edits. If you're unsure, consider saving your work as a draft first so you can revisit it later.

Things to Know

  • Discard Changes removes all unpublished edits — you cannot selectively discard individual changes

  • The presentation will revert to the last version that was either published or saved as a draft

  • This feature is available on the Desktop app (Mac and Windows)

  • If you've already published your changes, they cannot be discarded — contact Ingage Support if you need to roll back to a previous version of a published presentation
