🚫 Commenting is not available in Ingage Pro or GAF Present.
Why Use Commenting?
Keep feedback where the work is
Instead of managing revision requests across email and Slack, you can attach notes and reference files directly to the page that needs attention. Attachments support most common file types — images, PDFs, GIFs and video — up to approximately 2 GB.
Work the way you already do
Designers and editors can comment directly from the page editor. Stakeholders and reviewers can use the dedicated Present view to scroll through a presentation page by page and leave feedback without accessing design tools.
Stay organized with resolved and completed states
When a comment is addressed, mark it as resolved. It moves to a Completed view and stays on record — without being permanently deleted. Your team has a full history of what was asked and when.
How To Use Commenting
⚠️ Before You Begin: Update the Ingage Desktop App
Commenting requires the latest version of Ingage on Desktop. Open the Ingage desktop menu and select Check for Updates before using Commenting for the first time. No action is required on Web.
Understand Your Role and Permissions
Commenting is permission-based. Your role controls what you can do.
Role | Read | Create | Resolve Others | Delete Others |
Admin | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Creator | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Commenter | ✓ | ✓ | — | — |
Viewer | — | — | — | — |
⚠️ Note: You can always edit, delete, and resolve your own comments regardless of role.
Assigning Roles (Admins Only)
Role assignments work at two levels: Company-wide and Team-specific. A Team-level role always overrides the Company-level default for that user within that Team.
Company-Level Role (default for all Teams)
In the left navigation, go to Manage → Users.
Find the user and click the green arrow on the right side of their row.
Click Edit.
Click the Role dropdown and select the appropriate role.
Click Save Changes.
Team-Level Role (overrides Company-level for a specific Team)
In the left navigation, go to Manage → Teams.
Click into the Team you want to manage.
In the Members list, find the user.
Click the Role dropdown next to their name and select the new role. The change saves automatically. This user will now have the Team-level role within this Team, regardless of their Company-level default.
Example: Susan Smith is a Viewer at the Company level. For the Northeast Team, you can set her to Commenter — she'll have comment access in that Team only.

Click the ellipsis (⋯) on your own comment, then select Edit. Only your own comments can be edited.
Delete a comment
Click the ellipsis (⋯) on your own comment, then select Delete. Deletion is immediate — there is no confirmation step. Admins and Creators can delete other users' comments as well.

FAQ
Who can see comments?
Anyone with the Admin, Creator, or Commenter role can see comments. Viewers have no access to comments whatsoever.
Can I comment on a published presentation vs. a draft?
Yes — and the comments are the same either way. Comments are tied to the presentation itself, not to a specific published or draft version.
Can I attach a video file to a comment?
Yes. Most common file types are supported, including video. On Desktop, video files play inline. On Web, formats not supported by Chrome (such as MOV) will download instead.
What happens when I resolve a comment?
It moves to the Completed view. It is not deleted. View completed comments by clicking View All Comments and filtering for Completed.
What's the difference between resolving and deleting a comment?
Resolving marks a comment as done and moves it to Completed — it stays accessible. Deleting removes it immediately and cannot be undone.
Can I delete someone else's comment?
Only if you have the Delete permission, which is assigned to Admin and Creator roles. The Commenter role cannot delete others' comments.
Can I resolve someone else's comment?
Only if you have the Update permission. Admins and Creators have this by default. Commenters do not.
Will I get notified when someone leaves a comment?
Not currently. Notifications are on the roadmap. The numbered indicator on each page and in the sidebar shows when new comments are present.
Does commenting work on iPad?
No. Commenting is available on Desktop and Web only. It is not available on iOS — in the Ingage iPad app or in mobile web browsers.
What happens to comments if I delete the presentation?
Deleting a presentation deletes all associated comments.
What happens if I accidentally delete a comment?
Deletion is immediate and there is no confirmation step. If you delete a comment by mistake, reach out to Ingage Support.
