Using the Updated Compare Component

With the new Compare component, you can add text, logos, buttons, images, and additional elements directly inside the Compare. This allows your team to build more interactive content without needing to create graphics or overlays outside of Ingage.

The updated Compare component expands what you can create in Ingage while keeping your existing presentations fully supported. While the original Compare component was designed primarily for simple before-and-after visuals, the updated version allows you to build much richer experiences directly inside Ingage.

Please note: you can now upgrade existing Compare components in your presentations to take advantage of these new capabilities.

Upgrading an Existing Compare

If you already have presentations that use the original Compare component, you can easily upgrade them to the new version.

Your existing Compare components will continue to work exactly as they always have. However, upgrading them unlocks the new functionality, allowing you to add text, buttons, and other content directly inside the Compare.

To upgrade an existing Compare:

  1. Open the Edit function for your presentation by clicking the Edit pencil icon

  2. Select the Compare component you want to upgrade

  3. Choose the Update Compare option in the design inspector

  4. The component will automatically convert to the updated Compare

Once upgraded, you can begin editing each side of the Compare and adding additional elements.

Note: Upgrading a Compare is optional. If you prefer to keep the original component, it will continue to function normally.

New Capabilities in the Updated Compare

After upgrading, you’ll gain access to several new features, including:

  • Text, logos, and buttons inside the Compare

  • Multiple images per side

  • Vertical or horizontal Compare layouts

  • Compare components inside pop-ups

  • Improved editing controls for managing each side of the Compare

These capabilities give your team more flexibility when designing interactive presentations.

Important: Update Ingage Before Using the New Compare

Because the updated Compare component is a new platform feature, everyone viewing presentations that include it must be running the latest version of Ingage. If someone on your team is using an older version of the app, presentations containing the updated Compare component will not display correctly.

Before rolling out presentations using the new Compare, make sure your team updates Ingage. See the steps to update the Ingage app here.

Keeping your team on the latest version ensures presentations using the updated Compare component work properly for everyone.

When Should You Upgrade Your Compares?

You may want to upgrade your existing Compare components when:

  • You want to add messaging or branding directly inside the Compare

  • Your team wants to edit comparisons without creating new image assets

  • You want to use vertical Compare layouts

  • You want to place a Compare inside a pop-up

Upgrading allows you to take advantage of the newest capabilities while maintaining the presentations your team already relies on.
